Congratulations Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory

Congratulations Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory

Congratulations to the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory for the achievement of Sirius! We are proud to have had the opportunity to supply Sirius synchrotron with our last development:   Ultra High Vacuum compatible diodes for X-Ray beam intensity measurements These diodes, specifically developed for UHV environments show very low degassing levels. The small thickness of this silicon transmission diodes is only 10 microns, providing a lower absorption dor medium energies. LEARN MORE

Alibava System Classic used for microdosimetry in protontherapy

Alibava System Classic used for microdosimetry in protontherapy Researchers from the Department of Radiation Oncology, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, (PA, USA) have used for the first time an Alibava System Classic to perform microdosimetry measurements in a Protontherapy machine. The microdosimeter consists of an array of micro-sensors that have 3D cylindrical electrodes of 15 µm diameter and a depth of 5 µm within a silicon membrane, resulting in a well-defined micrometric radiation sensitive volume. The first measurements have been taken with a 241Am source and the results have...

Teachers experience using EASy White Note

Tony Weidberg, Professor of Particle Physics, and Jeffrey Lidgard, Teaching Laboratories Senior Technician, have answered the following questions about their experience using the Educational Alibava System EASy:   Tony Weidberg, Professor of Particle Physics   1. What is the education level of the students who have used EASy? We have been using it in our undergraduate labs within the physics department. 2. How does the device help you teach physics of detectors? This detector is discussed in lectures. It helps teach detector physics because it brings the theoretical idea to life....

Alibava Systems at the 2015 IEEE NSS/MIC in San Diego

Alibava Systems was at this year’s conference in San Diego, California (USA), which was held from October 31st to November 7th. We had a booth for exposing our range of products to the large number of scientific assistants that the conference counted on, measured in 2000 approximately. Moreover, on November 4th, Alibava System’s project manager, Carlos Jumilla, gave a presentation of EASy, our new educational system which helps to teach about how radiation detectors work. During the exposition, there was also a demonstration of its functions as well as of the different activities it is able...

A portable telescope based on the ALIBAVA system for test beam studies

A scientific article describing a new test beam telescope, built using the Alibava System Classic for data acquisition, has just been published in the peer-reviewed journal “Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research”. This test beam telescope system isable to reconstruct the track of the incident particles with reasonable precision and to determine the position of the beam particle interactions in a device under test (DUT), in order to test its tracking capabilities. The telescope hardware is based on the existing ALIBAVA readout system and has been developed to be able to host...
