Introduction

 

Alibava Systems’ participation in the CERN Summer Student Programme 2023 marked a significant milestone in their dedication to education and research in the field of high-energy physics. During this prestigious program, Alibava Systems had the privilege of offering specialized workshops on the introduction to semiconductor detectors, aimed at students interested in exploring the exciting applications of this technology in high-energy physics.

Alibava Systems Workshops at CERN Summer Student Programme 2023

In the lab-course, students had the opportunity to dive into the fundamentals of semiconductor detectors and their application in high-energy physics. Guided by expert Dr Carmen Garcia from Alibava Systems, students explored the essential concepts, such as semiconductor band structure, detection processes and the principles of operation of semiconductor detectors. Through hands-on demonstrations and guided exercises, students gained a solid understanding of the importance of semiconductor detectors in high-energy particle research.

To support her explanations, Dr. Garcia used our Educational Alibava System (EASy).

Conclusions
